Sending our love and best wishes to Ben Beasley through his journey and we look forward to seeing him back at the beach soon.

This calendar also  proudly supports the West Beach Surf Lifesaving Club.

The club has been patrolling the beach since 1956 and is a volunteer run organisation. All funds raised will provide essential rescue equipment.

This calendar wouldn’t be possible without the help and support of the following sponsors…

Pink Swim 2016

West Beach Surf Club, the National Breast Cancer Foundation and the Breast Cancer Network Australia would like to thank you for your generous support of Pink Swim 2016.

Whilst the weather wasn’t on our side, the spirit and comradery of all involved made the event an outstanding success. We are still tallying the proceeds, but are hoping to be close to $10,000 again this year. We had 100 new registrations on the day to walk and almost 200 pre-registered participants joined in, making a nice round figure of 300.

In every way, your donation counts.

We hope to see you in 2017.

General Information

West Beach Win Club of the Year
2 August 2015

West Beach Surf Life Saving Club won both Overall Champion Club and Club of the Year at this year's Surf Life Saving SA Awards of Excellence. West Beach President Peter Zuill's leadership and contribution to Surf Life Saving in South Australia was also recognised with the Volunteer of The Year Award.

Dennis Hay won Assessor of the Year and Jim Dale won the Presidents Award.  James "Jim" Dale.

Jim has been a long standing member of Surf Life Saving South Australia, obtaining his Bronze Medallion in 1980.

A life member of the West Beach Surf Life Saving Club, he holds numerous lifesaving awards, and has been involved with training and assessing at both club and state level.

Jim's commitment to Surf Life Saving South Australia and the South Australian public has seen him not only patrol at his own club but also as a member of the Surf Life Saving SA Jet Rescue Boat group.

Jim joined the Jet Rescue Boat service in 1980 and obtained his crew award in 1981, moving onto his driver's award in 1982 and with the result of standards and changes in the industry became an accredited Skipper in 2006. He also holds the Inflatable Rescue Boat Driver award.

Jim undertook training of others in the Jet Rescue Boats in 1983 and later in 1985 became an assessor in this area - this year marks 30 years of being an assessor, no small achievement.

For the past 28 years, Jim has also served as a maintenance officer for the Jet Rescue Boat group. His skills, knowledge and commitment to keeping our Jet Boats afloat are invaluable to the service and greatly appreciated by Surf Life Saving SA.

Over the years Jim has attended numerous rescues and major incidents working with other members and services of Surf Life Saving SA as well as that of Police, State Emergency Service, and SA Ambulance.

Jim received an Emergency Services Ministerial Commendation in 2009 in recognition of his involvement in a number of SLSSA emergencies and rescues and his commitment above and beyond to SLSSA and the Lifesaver Jet Rescue Boat Service.

He patrolled just shy of 200 hours last season, and has averaged 200 hours over the last 10 years.

From performing rescues, to the conduct of searches for missing people during all hours of the night and day and in all types of weather and surf conditions, Jim has been exposed to a significant number of emergency situations and in performing his duties has ensured that Surf Life Saving SA has always been held in high esteem.

The National  Awards of Excellence will be held in Sydney in October.

We wish Dennis and Peter good luck hope that our "CLub of the Year"  will be successful.  Congratulations to all of  the winners from all clubs for their service over the past year.
