Swimming is the foundation of surf lifesaving. Whether you’re training for competition, patrol readiness, or personal improvement—West Beach SLSC offers year-round swimming opportunities for all members.

Pool Training (Year-Round)

Where: Immanuel Pool

When: Tuesdays & Thursdays

7:00pm – 8:00pm and Sundays 9.00am – 10.00am

Fully Subsidised and open to financial SRC/Bronze members only
These coached sessions are open to all members looking to build fitness, improve technique, or prepare for surf sport competition.

Club Swim (Summer – Saturdays)

Where: West Beach SLSC

When: Saturdays

(starting date October date to be advised)

• Registration: 3:30 – 3:45pm (downstairs at the club)
• Start Time: 4:00pm

The Club Swim is a timed, handicapped ocean swim (approx. 600m) open to all club members and the public.

Swim Caps must be worn:

• Pink cap: SRC/Bronze qualified members
• Green cap: Under 18 participants without SRC/Bronze qualification
• Yellow cap: Adult 18+ Non Bronze Qualified Participants ( includes Associate and Community Members and Community Swimmers)

Eligibility & Safety:

• Members: SRC or Bronze required (juniors may participate with approval/red patch + Age Group Leader sign-off)
• Community swimmers: Welcome to join as a competent swimmer, after signing the registration form, attending the briefing, and following all directions from the Water Safety/Club Swim Coordinator
• Water safety is provided by qualified personnel in line with SLSA policy
• If you see a swimmer in difficulty, stop and signal/assist as directed

Important:

Club Swim runs only when the beach is open and water safety is in place, at the discretion of the Club Swim Coordinator.

Weekly Prize:

A great piece of West Beach merchandise (varies year to year) awarded to members periodically at Saturday Socials.
