Bronze Medallion
The Bronze course is usually run over a period of six to eight weeks, involving both theory and practical sessions conducted at West Beach SLSC. The final assessment will take place at a centralised location through a "bulk assessment" in conjunction with other Surf Clubs.
The Bronze Medallion is aligned to the Certificate II in Public Safety (Aquatic Rescue) qualification. Members can gain this qualification through Recognition of Prior Learning process. Contact Surf Life Saving SA for more information on this.

Prerequisites
Minimum 15 years of age (on the day of final assessment)
Financial member of the Surf Life Saving Club
Completed a 400m flat water swim in less than 9:00 minutes (signed off by an authorised club person)

During the Final Assessment for the above award, candidates will be required to demonstrate the following:
200m Run - 200m Swim - 200 Run in under 8:00 minutes
Demonstrate radio operations
Demonstrate basic first aid
Demonstrate 10 signals
Demonstrate lifts and carries
Demonstrate board and tube rescues
Demonstrate spinal management
Demonstrate resuscitation and defibrillation
