Come and Try Program
Our Come and Try Program is the perfect way to find out if your child enjoys the fun, fitness and friendships of junior surf life saving.
The program involves 2 x sessions for FREE. The sessions dates are below (does not need to be consecutive dates).

What will my child be doing?
The Surf Life Saving Nipper program includes age and developmentally appropriate activities on the beach and in the water to develop awareness, sun, beach and water safety and physical skills.
Physical activities may include:
Wading and swimming
Board paddling
Beach running and games
Resuscitation training
Our Come and Try sessions do not assume any previous knowledge or skill. Group leaders will assess basic competencies and may modify activities to ensure safety, confidence and enjoyment.
When are the Come and Try sessions conducted?
Our schedule below provides the specific times for each age group during our afternoon sessions (Nov-Dec 2024 dates) and morning sessions (Jan dates 2025).
Under 6 and Under 7 participants will complete both Come & Try sessions with their age group during the normal nipper sessions for these age groups.
Under 8 – Under 13 participants will undertake:
Session 1 as a separate Come and Try group
Session 2 with their age group
This ensures we can assess water confidence and skill level, and provide appropriate activities and water safety supervision.
