Training

Our training timetable varies as the weather gets warmer or when we face cool and windy conditions. Any variations are posted on our Facebook group, otherwise, training is as follows.

Training Schedule - Summer training 2024

West Beach must provide adequate water cover for training sessions. If there is not enough help, we cannot hold the session.  Members intending to train meet at the club at 5.00pm to assist with packing the trailer and board selection

Parents are required to stay for the whole session to assist with supervision - occasionally the session may finish early.

Lake training - All members are required to wear a high vis tops to these training sessions and MUST have a kayak light. The requirement for a light is not negotiable and must be used in low visibility and to be seen by other lake users. These are available from Anaconda, Mile End

Please note: New members must be assessed with a Preliminary Skills Evaluation, suitable for the prescribed age group, prior to training commencing (red patch).

Age group members must also be assessed with a Preliminary Skills Evaluation, prior to training commencing, if this hasn’t been done previously.
